Abstract: Guidance on the characteristics, use, care, and storage of filmstrips is presented to assist school teachers in designing lessons using filmstrips as effective educational aids. Special emphasis is placed on the steps to be taken in the effective utilization of filmstrips: previewing; establishing the environment and projection equipment needed; discussing the lesson objectives with the students prior to showing the filmstrip; creating a learning atmosphere while the filmstrip is being shown; and conducting a post-filmstrip evaluation. Local production techniques also are described. A bibliography, a glossary of terms, and listings of hardware and software are appended. (wz).
